Grants & Financial Assistance Program
Both the decline of the stock market and the extended period of unusually low interest rates have impacted the popular and successful Grants and Financial Assistance program of the United Methodist Foundation of New England. These two factors have resulted in a significant reduction of endowment income. While the Foundation was able to successfully sponsor the 2002 program with grants totaling $28,200 to fifteen missional projects, it must temporarily suspend the program for 2003. We recognize that the many ministries that could benefit from receiving such grants will be disappointed with this decision, but it is a necessary course of action in the light of current economic realities. The Foundation leadership and its Grants & Financial Assistance Committee will be working very hard this year to resume a grant cycle for 2004. We invite United Methodist churches, organizations and individuals to become partners with the Foundation in aiding these valuable ministry projects sponsored by our local U.M. churches. Donations of any amount will be appreciated and can be sent to:
You can contact the Foundation at 800-595-4347 if you would like more information concerning this program. To view story examples of grants that have been previously approved go to Grant Approvals.
We thank you for your continued prayers and support.
